Hey everyone!
I've lived in AZ for 35 years and have never camped in the desert. So, I'm going to give it a shot. Does anyone know of some pretty dispersed sites good for a 20 foot travel trailer?
Thank you in advance!

Thanks for the suggestion! I understand there's a ton of open land out there, I'm just seeing what little spots of beauty people have tucked away that they're willing to share. You never know if someone knows of that one dirt road that leads to magnificence. Thanks again!
Kofa preserve!!
THAT'S what I'm talking about! How cool is that area!? I really appreciate your suggestion and I'll put that one at the top of my list! It looks beautiful and I like the dispersed aspect of it. Very cool! This is why I kept it broad and unspecified, to find little gems like this. I'm excited to see it.
It's pretty, but be prepared for high winds and no shade. Not a great place for dogs as there's jumping cholla everywhere and it basically covers the ground.
Stop by Beer Belly's Adult Daycare in Quartzite for a beer and a burger on your way for a good time.
Will do! I'll make my way out there soon. Very cool spot!
I am newer to AZ camping and dispersed camping so I'm following this post for info! Sorry about the 'tude you're getting, but props for the positive responses. Thanks for putting your neck out there for the lil people.
I really appreciate that. Everyone starts somewhere, and I figured go straight to the people that are out there living it! Good luck and happy camping!
Where? Care to narrow it down a little? Maybe make an actual effort?
"An actual effort"?! Narrow it down to where?! I don't have any particular place in mind, hence why I didn't "narrow it down". I'm actually interested in ANYWHERE anybody has to recommend in Arizona. There was no reason to respond like that. Go correct someone else, I've got camping to do.
Are you talking high desert or low desert? Are you talking in the pines or in flat open area? Narrowing it down would help a little, especially if you could mention exactly what you wanted to see. Arizona is extremely diverse and camping in different areas is different.
Your question is pretty much asking where in Arizona can I camp? (Hint: a metric ton of places) with that, you can literally just use the search bar and get your answer for this very broad question.
You literally re explained his logic. He just said: anywhere in AZ - so if you know a metric ton of places just name a couple and move on? You’re not his travel coordinator. If it satisfies his one condition which is the size of his trailer then you don’t need any more info.
That was just rude and uncalled for. I wish we could treat each other better. 😔
Seriously…how pretentious. Clearly a glamper
Indian Bread Rocks
I've never been by Wilcox. That looks really awesome. I'll go check it out!
Thank you for your suggestion!
you might also check out Hot Well Dunes. not dispersed but with hot springs.
That looks like fun though, sand and some hot springs.. you can't go wrong. Any idea how packed this place gets? I'd imagine a ton of side by sides.
Thank you so much! I've really enjoyed these new places
Ive never been camped next to anyone else there. note the tubs are daylight hours only as the pump is solar powered.
I'll remember that. It sounds like a somewhat quiet spot. Always a plus!
I'll definitely check out Saddleback mountain! I've been looking all over blm maps and Google maps, there's plenty of open land, most of which would be beautiful, but you know what they say... go to the source!
Okay, you got me, that looks beautiful. It's going on my winter campout list! Thank you!
I pulled this from my saved locations in Google maps... The note I wrote was that it's trailer friendly and has a beautiful overlook. The gps coordinates are: 33.7577880, -110.9798446 good luck!!
How awesome! Thank you for sharing! I'm definitely checking this one out.
This is what it's all about. Thank you so much!
Kofa or Indian bread are your best bets for longer trailers but there's desert land all between phx and Tucson that has dispersed camping.
Just look for it, like literally try at all and you'll find something
