Not even a super rare pairing, just one that isn't canon. And not even a bad fic. It feels like it goes against the flow. Especially when the quality of the fic makes you like the pairing. Especially when the pairing only makes sense when key canon details are changed. AND ESPECIALLY when it's a show and there are more seasons yet to come out and there's a tiny chance the pairing might become canon but there's also a huge chance that the upcoming events would make the pairing even more strange.
But also just in general feeling a bit agitated when you read about or like a pairing but it's not canon.
